The Escort Deposit Scam has been a popular way for punters to lose money fast. Whilst we know that this might upset some genuine escorts that ask for a deposit, we are finding that this happens much too often so it is only fair to warn Clients.
As a punter, if you are ever asked for a deposit, you must take care. Once a payment has been made by cash, bank transfer, PayPal or any other way, you have handed over control of that to the recipient.
A Recent Scenario
There is no better way to understand how this might unfold than directly from a victim of the escort deposit scam. Clearly, we keep all identities hidden.
Here is what happened recently to a punter in Southampton.
“For the first time I decided to order an escort and chose a female escort from Southampton.
The ad requests texts to book so I texted and got asked if I had an account on adultwork so I could book the escort.
I said no and was told that I’d have to pay a deposit then which I had not problem with as I read online that, that is sometimes asked for transport.
The escort sent bank details and asked for £40 and for the rest to be paid upon arrival.
I requested a booking of 1 hour from 8pm.
At 8:35 I sent a text asking if she was still coming and was told ‘yes’ and ’15 mins’
I then text at 9:25 pm and again at 9:35 pm it’s now 10:00 pm and I haven’t had a response to my last texts and the escort has not arrived.”
Avoiding the Escort Deposit Scam
Yes, there are some reputable adult service providers that ask you for a deposit but there is a risk.
We have to stress this. There ARE reputable escorts that ask for a deposit.
Having said that we always advise that Clients do NOT pay or send a deposit unless they have spoken to the escort and have some feedback and reviews about her service.
To help support your research into how valid this profile might be, look to see if the profile has been verified as belonging to an adult. Also check to see if her phone number has been verified too.
